Geraldine O'Brien

The flower painter extraordinaire, has been painting for over 70 years.  She won her first art prize at the age of nine.  In 1939, aged 17, she went to study for a year with Dublin-born pleinair artist Stanhope Alexander Forbes in Cornwall.  The following year she exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy and continued to exhibit regularly at the RHA up until the early '90s.  Exhibiting in the Frank Lewis Gallery since 1986.  Her work was also shown in the Paris Salon, in Biarritz, London, Boston and Australia.  From an artistic family her relations include Dermod O'Brien PRHA, Kitty Wilmer O'Brien RHA, Brigid Ganly RHA.  Her mother Cecily O'Brien, was also a distinguished artist.
