Vicki Crowley
Vicki Crowley is Maltese. Following a training in architectural drawing she travelled extensively in Europe and Africa where she met and married her Irish born husband. The Crowleys have been living in Ireland for the past twenty eight years. Artist Vicki Crowley explains that she paints from the imagination, unlocking memories and almost forgotten images and sensations from the past - distilling and intensifying the subject matter, reducing it to its very essence. Often, one image unpeels another. Together humans, animals, birds and plants inhabit a dream world of altered scale to underline the interdependence of all living things. Vicki Crowley has exhibited widely in Ireland including two solo exhibitions at the Frank Lewis Gallery Killarney. She has also exhibited in the European Parliament Strasbourg and in Oman. In recent years she has gained a considerable reputation or her very vivid paintings on silk. Her paintings are included in collections throughout the world including National Museum Malta; Municipal Collection, Cabildo of Santa Cruz Tenerife; Galway County Council; Galway City Hall; Allied Irish Banks; Bank of Ireland; Great Southern Hotels; Croke Park; GlenEagle Hotel, Killarney and Kerry County Council.
